SE2 LABS FOUNDED WITH A VISION

New Firm Plans to Streamline Home Entertainment Installations

DRAPER, UTAH - February 28, 2005 - Michael Pyle, the founder and owner of Aurant, a well-known custom home theater firm in Salt Lake City, announced the creation of SE2 Labs. The new company will focus on creating high-end products for home theater enthusiasts.

"Our mission is to take complicated home entertainment systems and installations and make them easy," said Pyle from his office in Draper, Utah, just outside of Salt Lake City. "Currently, home theater installations are too bulky, inefficient, and cumbersome. We believe there is tremendous opportunity in creating home entertainment solutions that bring plug and play simplicity to the residential install. That's going to benefit both consumers and installers alike."

The idea has been germinating in Pyle's head for years. Frustrated with watching his installers open up 20 to 30 packages per installation - and suffering needless delays because of missing or incompatible components - Pyle began building customized pre-packaged home theater setups that were ready to place in a customer's home. Demand was high. The more Pyle and his team built, the more he sold, and the more sophisticated the systems became.

"We're working on ways to integrate all the components of a home theater system and put it into one box," says Pyle, who acknowledges there are challenges to overcome. Among them: channeling the substantial heat that would be generated by confining so much functionality into one box. Pyle's technicians are working on proprietary technology - and preparing the patent paperwork - to do just that.

Once patents are secure, Pyle plans to take his vision to the next level: The mass production of thousands of integrated entertainment systems for easy residential installs and potentially as a standard entertainment package for new housing developments and MDUs. The manufacturing and mass marketing that would be required to realize that dream, though, are a ways away. When intellectual rights to his technology are secure, the next step will be the active courting of venture capital investors. The dream is a far cry from the installations Pyle cut his teeth on, but Pyle is up to the challenge.

"Hey, I'm in the business of creating comfort zones. Not staying in them!" Pyle says with a grin.
